Book Review | Marigold – the golden memories | Manali Debroy

‘Marigold- The golden memories’ by ‘Manali Debroy’ instantly intrigued me with its aesthetic cover and book description containing Marilyn Monroe quotes. From both of these I was looking forward to soothing and amazing read and only halfway the book stands on my every expectations.

This is a good of a short story collection that one could hope to read. Each story deals with different aspects, emotions and perception of life. Author creates the cocktail of nature, life, hope, pain, friendship, family, gender equality and celebrates it with sheer honesty and compassion.
Like every short story collection, the quality of work is uneven. Each story is unique in its own way. Especially in terms of how abstract the messages are. The book is the bottles of emotions with each story you feel a different one but surely each story will shift something in you.

Jarring up so many stories in one book is a difficult task but author did it with grace. The writing is optimistic. Author should be complimented for their tongue in cheek quality, peppered with humour and poignant emotions all through.

Overall it’s warm and fuzzy and leaves you with a big smile on your face!
